SMS Consent & Opt-In Documentation

Confused Apes uses a voice-call-initiated double opt-in process to ensure all SMS recipients have explicitly consented to receive messages. Below is a detailed breakdown of our consent flow.

Verbal Notice (During Inbound Call)

At the start of each inbound call, callers hear two separate disclosures:

Disclosure 1 — Recording Notice

"This call may be recorded for quality and training purposes."

Disclosure 2 — SMS Follow-Up Notice

"We use SMS to follow up with customers after this call. You'll receive a text shortly — just reply YES to confirm you'd like to receive updates from us."

Opt-In Request SMS

Immediately after the call, the following exact text is sent to the caller's phone number:

Confused Apes: Reply YES to receive info requested during call. May include promos. Msg & data rates may apply. STOP to cancel. Need help? 267-881-3883

Confirmation and Delivery

The requested follow-up information is only sent after the recipient replies YES to the opt-in request message.

No messages of any kind are sent to phone numbers that do not reply YES. Numbers that do not confirm are not added to any messaging list.
